5. Handle reservations, modifications, cancellations, and refunds in compliance with airline and hotel policies.
6. Build and maintain relationships with travel suppliers (e.g., airlines, cruise lines, tour operators) to secure exclusive deals.
7. Stay updated on U.S. travel regulations, industry trends, and emerging destinations to provide expert guidance.
1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in travel planning (e.g., from The Travel Institute) is a plus.
2. 2+ years of experience as a travel agent or in a related customer service role within the U.S. travel industry.
3. Proficiency in at least one GDS (e.g., Sabre, Apollo, or Amadeus) and booking software (e.g., Travelport, Expedia PartnerCentral).
4. Strong knowledge of U.S. travel destinations, major airlines, hotel chains, and cruise lines.
