Target Cashier responsibilities include:
1. Process guest transactions accurately using POS systems including cash, credit, debit, gift cards, and mobile payments
2. Engage guests with friendly service and actively promote Target Circle loyalty program benefits
3. Handle returns and exchanges following Target's policies and procedures
4. Maintain clean and organized checkout lanes with properly stocked supplies
5. Assist guests with product location, pricing inquiries, and store navigation
6. Balance cash drawer at end of shift and complete required documentation
7. Identify and prevent potential theft by following company asset protection protocols
8. Process age-restricted sales in compliance with state and federal regulations
1. High school diploma or equivalent education
2. Basic math skills and ability to handle monetary transactions accurately
3. Excellent customer service orientation and communication skills
4. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift items up to 10 pounds
5. Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
6. Minimum 16 years of age (varies by state requirements)
7. Reliable transportation to assigned Target store location
Preferred Qualifications
1. Previous cash handling or retail experience (6+ months preferred)
2. Experience with retail POS systems and payment processing
3. Knowledge of Target store operations and merchandise layout
4. Multilingual abilities, particularly Spanish in diverse communities
