Sales Development Manager responsibilities include:
1. Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a team of SDRs to achieve individual and team quotas
2. Develop and implement strategic outbound prospecting plans targeting key industries and personas
3. Create and optimize email sequences, call scripts, and social selling outreach strategies
4. Track and analyze team performance metrics (calls, emails, meetings booked, conversion rates)
5. Conduct regular pipeline reviews and forecast meetings booked for Account Executives
6. Collaborate with Marketing to develop targeted account lists and optimize lead qualification criteria
7. Implement and manage sales technology stack (CRM, sales engagement platforms, intent data tools)
8. Develop and maintain comprehensive reporting on team performance and campaign effectiveness
1. 5+ years of experience in sales development or inside sales, with 2+ years in a leadership role
2. Proven track record of exceeding team quotas and driving pipeline growth
3. Expertise in outbound prospecting methodologies (e.g., MEDDIC, Challenger Sale, Sandler)
4. Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales engagement platforms (Outreach, SalesLoft)
5. Strong analytical skills with experience in sales metrics and performance reporting
6. Excellent coaching and mentoring capabilities with demonstrated team development success
7. Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience in SaaS or technology sales environment
2. Knowledge of marketing automation tools (Marketo, Pardot) and lead scoring systems
3. Experience building SDR teams from ground up or through rapid expansion
