The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing fleet maintenance, compliance, cost control, and driver safety programs. Fleet Manager responsibilities include:
1. Develop and implement comprehensive fleet maintenance programs to maximize vehicle uptime and reliability
2. Manage fleet budgeting, cost analysis, and expense control measures
3. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, state laws, and company safety policies
4. Oversee vehicle acquisition, disposal, and lifecycle management strategies
5. Implement and monitor driver safety programs and training initiatives
6. Manage fuel consumption and implement fuel efficiency programs
7. Coordinate with maintenance vendors and service providers for optimal fleet performance
8. Utilize fleet management software for real-time monitoring and reporting
9. Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure fleet efficiency
10. Handle accident management and insurance claims processing
1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or related field
2. 5+ years of fleet management experience with 50+ vehicles
3. Comprehensive knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements
4. Proven experience with fleet management software systems
5. Strong financial acumen with budget management experience
6. Valid driver's license with clean driving record
7. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
8. Strong communication and team management skills
Preferred Qualifications
1. Certification in Fleet Management (NAFA or similar)
2. Experience with electric or alternative fuel vehicles
3. Background in transportation or logistics industry
4. Experience with GPS tracking and telematics systems
5. Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices
6. Previous experience managing cross-functional teams
