Job Overview

The Pharmacy Technician will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications to patients in a fast-paced pharmacy environment. Pharmacy Technician responsibilities include:

Compound non-sterile medications and prepare unit-dose packages 6. Provide exceptional customer service and address patient questions within scope of practice 7. Maintain clean and organized work environment following safety protocols 8. Assist with pharmacy administrative tasks and compliance documentation

Must-Have Requirements

1. High school diploma or equivalent required 2. State Pharmacy Technician license/certification (where required) 3. Minimum 1 year of pharmacy technician experience in retail or hospital setting 4. Proficiency with pharmacy software systems and insurance processing 5. Strong mathematical skills for dosage calculations and inventory management 6. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation 7. Knowledge of FDA regulations and HIPAA compliance requirements 8. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

1. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential from PTCB or ExCPT 2. 2+ years of experience in retail pharmacy operations 3. Experience with automated dispensing systems and technology 4. Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) for diverse patient populations 5. Previous experience with medication therapy management programs 6. Knowledge of 340B drug pricing program requirements 7. Experience working in high-volume pharmacy environments
