We are seeking a results-driven Pharmaceutical Sales Representative to promote and sell our pharmaceutical products to healthcare professionals. This role requires building strong relationships with physicians, pharmacists, and medical facilities while demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of our product portfolio and the competitive landscape. The ideal candidate will excel in territory management, achieve sales targets, and contribute to market growth through strategic planning and effective communication.
1. Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve territory sales targets and market share objectives
2. Conduct daily sales calls to physicians, hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies to promote pharmaceutical products
3. Organize and present product information and clinical data to healthcare professionals
4. Analyze prescribing patterns and market data to identify business opportunities
5. Coordinate and execute promotional activities including lunch-and-learns and medical education events
6. Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions in CRM system
7. Monitor competitor activities and market trends to adjust sales strategies accordingly
8. Ensure compliance with all industry regulations, company policies, and PhRMA code requirements
9. Manage territory budget and sample accountability in accordance with company guidelines
10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing and medical affairs to optimize sales efforts
1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or related field
2. Minimum 2 years of pharmaceutical sales experience with proven track record of meeting/exceeding quotas
3. Valid driver's license and ability to travel within assigned territory (up to 75% travel)
4. Thorough understanding of FDA regulations and PhRMA code requirements
5. Demonstrated ability to analyze prescription data and market trends
6. Excellent presentation and communication skills with healthcare professionals
7. Strong organizational and territory management capabilities
8. Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
9. Ability to pass background check and drug screening
10. Existing relationships with healthcare providers in assigned territory
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience selling in specific therapeutic areas: cardiology, oncology, or neurology
2. Advanced degree (MBA, MS) or professional certifications
3. Experience with specialty pharmaceuticals or biologics
4. Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement processes
5. Bilingual capabilities (Spanish preferred)
6. Experience with Veeva CRM or similar pharmaceutical sales platforms
7. Existing relationships with key opinion leaders in relevant therapeutic areas
8. Documented sales awards or performance recognition in pharmaceutical industry
