This role requires strong analytical skills and collaboration with sales, marketing, and operations teams to align business strategies with market demand.
Demand Planning responsibilities include:
1. Develop and maintain statistical forecasting models using historical data and market intelligence
2. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to incorporate promotional plans and market trends into forecasts
3. Monitor forecast accuracy metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives
4. Conduct root cause analysis of forecast errors and develop corrective action plans
5. Lead monthly demand planning meetings with cross-functional stakeholders
6. Manage inventory targets and safety stock levels to balance service levels and working capital
7. Utilize advanced planning systems (e.g., SAP APO, Oracle Demantra) for demand management
8. Prepare and present demand planning reports and insights to senior management
1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Statistics, or related field
2. 3+ years of demand planning or forecasting experience in consumer goods or manufacturing
3. Proficiency in statistical forecasting methods and demand planning software
4. Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
6. Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments
Preferred Qualifications
1. APICS CPIM or CSCP certification
2. Experience with machine learning applications in demand forecasting
3. Background in CPG, retail, or pharmaceutical industries
4. Knowledge of SQL or other database query languages
5. Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
6. Master's degree in relevant field
7. Experience in S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) processes
