4. Monitor carrier performance and negotiate shipping contracts with major carriers (UPS, FedEx, DHL)
5. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, hazardous materials handling, and international shipping requirements
6. Optimize shipping routes and methods to reduce costs and improve delivery times
7. Maintain accurate inventory records and coordinate with inventory control teams
8. Resolve shipping discrepancies, damages, and customer complaints
9. Implement and manage shipping software systems (WMS, TMS)
10. Prepare and analyze shipping performance metrics and KPIs
1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration
2. 5+ years of experience in shipping/logistics management
3. Proven experience with major carrier systems and freight negotiations
4. Comprehensive knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements
5. Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS)
6. Strong leadership and team management capabilities
7. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience in international shipping and customs documentation
2. Certification in logistics (CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD)
3. Experience with ERP systems integration
