Receiving Clerk responsibilities include:
1. Unload and receive incoming shipments from various carriers and vendors
2. Verify shipment contents against purchase orders and packing slips
3. Inspect goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies in quantity
4. Accurately document received items in inventory management system
5. Label and tag received items with appropriate identification
6. Coordinate with purchasing department to resolve receiving discrepancies
7. Prepare and process return merchandise authorizations (RMAs)
8. Maintain clean and organized receiving area and storage facilities
9. Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other warehouse equipment
10. Assist with periodic physical inventory counts and audits
1. High school diploma or GED equivalent
2. Minimum 1 year experience in receiving, warehouse, or inventory control
3. Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems
4. Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds regularly
5. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
6. Basic math skills for counting and verifying quantities
7. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
8. Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
9. Understanding of basic safety protocols in warehouse environment
10. Excellent organizational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
1. 2+ years experience in receiving or warehouse operations
2. Experience with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
3. Forklift certification or experience operating warehouse equipment
4. Knowledge of shipping/receiving software platforms
5. Experience with barcode scanning systems
6. Background in retail, distribution, or manufacturing environments
7. Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety standards
8. Inventory control or cycle counting experience
9. Basic understanding of supply chain processes
10. Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) in regions with diverse workforce
