Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to manage our procurement operations and vendor relationships. This role requires strategic sourcing expertise, negotiation skills, and supply chain management knowledge to ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards and timely delivery across our US operations.

Purchasing Officer responsibilities include:

1. Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies for direct and indirect materials 2. Manage end-to-end procurement process including RFQs, vendor selection, and purchase order issuance 3. Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing and payment terms 4. Maintain and analyze supplier performance metrics (quality, delivery, cost) 5. Monitor inventory levels and implement inventory control measures 6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, finance, and logistics 7. Ensure compliance with company policies and US procurement regulations 8. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost reduction initiatives 9. Manage supplier relationships and conduct regular vendor evaluations 10. Resolve supply chain disruptions and implement contingency plans

Must-Have Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field 2. 3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in US market 3. Proven negotiation skills with documented cost savings achievements 4. Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) 5. Strong knowledge of US procurement regulations and compliance requirements 6. Proficiency in inventory management principles and techniques 7. Excellent analytical skills with ability to interpret procurement data 8. Demonstrated vendor management and relationship building capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

1. CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or APICS certification 2. Experience in specific industry sectors (manufacturing, retail, or healthcare) 3. Background in implementing procurement digital transformation projects 4. Knowledge of sustainable sourcing practices and ESG compliance 5. Experience with e-procurement platforms and digital sourcing tools 6. Previous work in multi-site procurement operations 7. Familiarity with import/export regulations and international sourcing
