Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive legal support and guidance across our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing legal matters, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mitigating legal risks while supporting business objectives. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to navigate complex legal issues in a fast-paced corporate environment.

Legal Counsel responsibilities include:

1. Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial contracts and agreements including vendor contracts, service agreements, and partnership documents 2. Provide legal advice on corporate governance, compliance matters, and regulatory requirements 3. Manage litigation matters and coordinate with external counsel when necessary 4. Develop and implement company policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance 5. Conduct legal research and analysis on emerging laws and regulations affecting the business 6. Advise on employment law matters, including employee relations and HR policies 7. Manage intellectual property portfolio and protection strategies 8. Provide training to business units on legal issues and risk management

Must-Have Requirements

1. Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school 2. Active membership in good standing with at least one state bar association 3. 5+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably with in-house counsel experience 4. Strong knowledge of contract law, corporate law, and regulatory compliance 5. Excellent negotiation, drafting, and legal analysis skills 6. Experience with commercial transactions and business agreements 7. Ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice 8. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience in technology, healthcare, or financial services industries 2. Background in both law firm and in-house corporate environments 3. Expertise in specific regulatory areas such as data privacy (GDPR/CCPA), securities law, or healthcare regulations 4. Experience with mergers and acquisitions or corporate transactions 5. Knowledge of international business laws and cross-border transactions 6. Previous experience in a publicly traded company environment 7. Advanced degree or certification in a specialized legal area 8. Experience managing outside counsel budgets and relationships

Bonus Skills

1. Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certification 2. Experience with legal technology tools and contract management systems 3. Fluency in additional languages, particularly Spanish or Mandarin 4. Background in litigation management or dispute resolution 5. Experience with intellectual property registration and protection 6. Knowledge of antitrust and competition law 7. Experience in crisis management and emergency response planning 8. Previous work with government agencies or regulatory bodies
