Job Overview
The Compliance Manager ensures our organization operates within all legal and regulatory frameworks, developing and implementing compliance programs, policies, and procedures. This role involves monitoring regulatory changes, conducting risk assessments, and providing guidance to management on compliance matters to maintain the company's integrity and reputation.
Compliance Manager responsibilities include:
1. Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance programs and policies
2. Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and internal audits
3. Monitor and interpret federal, state, and local regulations (including SEC, FINRA, OSHA, EPA, and industry-specific requirements)
4. Investigate compliance violations and implement corrective actions
5. Prepare and submit regulatory filings and reports to government agencies
6. Develop and deliver compliance training programs for employees
7. Serve as primary contact for regulatory examinations and inquiries
8. Maintain documentation of compliance activities and create compliance reports for executive management
1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Finance, or related field
2. 5+ years of compliance experience in regulated industries
3. Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) or equivalent certification
4. Thorough knowledge of U.S. regulatory frameworks and requirements
5. Experience developing and implementing compliance programs
6. Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
8. Ability to interpret complex regulatory language into actionable guidance
Preferred Qualifications
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree or Master's in Regulatory Affairs
2. Experience in financial services, healthcare, or pharmaceutical industries
3. Previous experience with regulatory agency interactions and examinations
4. Knowledge of international compliance standards (ISO, GDPR, etc.)
5. Experience with compliance monitoring software and systems
6. Background in corporate governance and ethics programs
7. Familiarity with whistleblower programs and investigations
8. Previous management experience leading compliance teams
Bonus Skills
1. Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification
2. Experience with AI-powered compliance monitoring tools
3. Background in data privacy and cybersecurity compliance
4. Multilingual capabilities (Spanish, Mandarin, or other relevant languages)
5. Experience with mergers and acquisitions compliance due diligence
