Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced System Administrator to maintain, upgrade, and manage our software, hardware, and networks across our US-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability while implementing security best practices and providing technical support to end-users.
System Administrator responsibilities include:
1. Install, configure, and maintain Windows/Linux servers and network equipment
2. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability
3. Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions
4. Manage user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations
5. Perform regular security monitoring and vulnerability assessments
6. Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting
7. Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and junior staff
8. Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and service records
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
2. 3+ years of professional system administration experience in US-based environments
3. Proficiency with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 and Active Directory
4. Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere or Hyper-V)
5. Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN)
6. Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
7. Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards
8. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
1. Industry certifications (Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, RHCE, or VMware VCP)
2. Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
3. Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet)
4. Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus)
5. Familiarity with ITIL framework and change management processes
6. Previous experience in regulated industries ( healthcare, finance, or government)
Bonus Skills
1. Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
2. Programming/scripting expertise beyond basic automation (Python, Go, or Ruby)
3. Database administration experience (SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL)
4. Storage area network (SAN) management experience
5. Project management skills and experience leading infrastructure projects
6. Multi-cloud environment management and optimization experience
