Senior System Administrator responsibilities include:
1. Administer and maintain Windows/Linux server environments including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
2. Implement and manage virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V) with HA/DRS configurations
3. Monitor system performance using tools like SolarWinds, Nagios, or PRTG and optimize resource utilization
4. Design and execute disaster recovery plans and maintain 99.9% system availability SLA
5. Manage Azure/AWS cloud infrastructure including IAM, VPC, and storage solutions
6. Implement security protocols, patch management, and compliance with SOC 2, HIPAA requirements
7. Lead infrastructure projects including migrations, upgrades, and technology implementations
8. Provide Tier 3 support and mentor junior administrators in troubleshooting complex issues
1. 5+ years experience in enterprise system administration with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022
2. Expert knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting
3. Proven experience with virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere 6.5+ or Hyper-V)
4. Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLAN, VPN, firewall configurations)
5. Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam, Commvault, or equivalent)
6. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
7. Relevant certifications (Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, VMware VCP, or CompTIA Server+)
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience with cloud migration projects (on-prem to Azure/AWS)
2. Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
3. Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet)
4. Familiarity with SIEM tools and security incident response procedures
5. Previous experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, government)
6. Project management experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
