Job Overview
As a Security Engineer at our organization, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our security infrastructure to protect against cyber threats. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the security of our systems, networks, and data, while staying ahead of emerging threats in the rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape.
Security Engineer responsibilities include:
1. Design and implement security measures for network infrastructure, cloud environments, and endpoints
2. Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing
3. Monitor security systems for anomalies and respond to security incidents
4. Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation
5. Implement and manage security tools including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection
6. Collaborate with development teams to integrate security into the SDLC
7. Investigate security breaches and implement corrective actions
8. Stay current with latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
2. 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity engineering
3. Proficiency in network security protocols and technologies (firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS)
4. Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container security
5. Strong knowledge of encryption technologies and identity management systems
6. Experience with security assessment tools and penetration testing frameworks
7. Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST)
8. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+
Preferred Qualifications
1. Master's degree in Cybersecurity or related technical field
2. Experience with DevSecOps practices and security automation
3. Knowledge of threat intelligence platforms and threat hunting techniques
4. Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, or Bash)
5. Background in incident response and digital forensics
6. Previous experience in financial services or healthcare security environments
7. Familiarity with zero-trust architecture implementation
8. Experience with security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) platforms
