Additionally, they stay updated on changing payroll laws, resolve payroll discrepancies, answer employee inquiries about compensation, and collaborate with HR regarding new hires, terminations, and benefits deductions. They also implement and maintain payroll systems and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Payroll Analyst responsibilities include:
1. Process multi-state payroll for 1000+ employees bi-weekly using ADP Workforce Now
2. Calculate and process special payments including bonuses, commissions, and retroactive adjustments
3. Manage and reconcile payroll tax filings at federal, state, and local levels
4. Conduct regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance
5. Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee inquiries within 24 hours
6. Prepare and distribute year-end reporting including W-2s and 1099s
7. Maintain and update employee payroll records in HRIS system
8. Process garnishments, levies, and support orders in compliance with legal requirements
9. Generate custom payroll reports for finance and accounting departments
10. Implement and test payroll system updates and enhancements
1. 3+ years of multi-state payroll processing experience
2. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification
3. Expert proficiency with ADP Workforce Now or similar enterprise payroll systems
4. Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state payroll tax regulations
5. Experience processing payroll for 500+ employees
6. Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
7. Understanding of wage and hour laws including FLSA compliance
8. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive payroll data
9. High school diploma or equivalent required
Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
2. Experience with Workday or SAP payroll modules
3. Previous experience in publicly traded company environment
4. Knowledge of international payroll processing requirements
5. Experience with payroll implementation or system conversion projects
6. Background in accounting or general ledger reconciliation
7. Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements for payroll
8. Experience processing union payroll with complex bargaining agreements
