Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated HR Intern to join our dynamic Human Resources team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in various HR functions including recruitment, employee onboarding, training coordination, and HR administration. The ideal candidate will gain exposure to real-world HR operations while supporting our team in maintaining a positive work environment and ensuring compliance with US employment laws and regulations.
HR Intern responsibilities include:
1. Assist with full-cycle recruitment process including job postings, resume screening, and interview scheduling
2. Support new hire onboarding procedures including documentation and orientation coordination
3. Help maintain HRIS database and employee records in compliance with federal/state regulations
4. Assist in organizing employee engagement events and training programs
5. Conduct preliminary research on HR trends and compliance requirements
6. Provide administrative support for performance management processes
7. Assist with benefits administration and employee inquiries
8. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information
1. Currently pursuing Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
2. Basic understanding of US employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, EEO)
3. Strong verbal and written communication skills
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
5. Excellent organizational and time management abilities
6. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information
7. Demonstrated professionalism and ethical conduct
8. Availability to work 15-20 hours per week during academic sessions
Preferred Qualifications
1. Previous internship or administrative experience in corporate environment
2. Knowledge of HRIS systems (Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, or similar)
3. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (Greenhouse, Lever, or similar)
4. Experience with data analysis and reporting in Excel
5. Understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles
6. Participation in SHRM student chapter or HR-related organizations
7. Basic knowledge of compensation and benefits structures
8. Experience with event planning or coordination

1. SHRM-CP or PHR certification preparation
