Executive Pastor responsibilities include:
1. Provide executive leadership and management to church staff and ministry departments
2. Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the church's vision
3. Oversee annual budgeting, financial reporting, and stewardship initiatives
4. Manage human resources functions including staff recruitment, development, and performance management
5. Ensure compliance with denominational policies, legal requirements, and risk management protocols
6. Direct facility management, capital projects, and technology infrastructure
7. Lead strategic planning processes and performance metrics tracking
8. Serve as key liaison between pastoral staff, congregation, and church leadership boards
1. Master of Divinity or equivalent theological degree from accredited institution
2. 7+ years of pastoral leadership experience in multi-staff church environment
3. Ordained or licensed minister in good standing with recognized denomination
4. Proven experience in church administration, financial management, and strategic planning
5. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop ministry staff teams
6. Thorough understanding of church governance and ecclesiastical policies
7. Strong biblical knowledge and theological alignment with evangelical Christian doctrine
Preferred Qualifications
1. Doctoral degree in Ministry, Leadership, or Theology
2. 10+ years executive-level church leadership experience
3. Experience in church planting or multi-site church operations
4. Background in capital campaign leadership and facility expansion projects
5. Denominational leadership experience or network connections
6. Certification in church administration or nonprofit management
7. Experience with church management software (Planning Center, Church Community Builder)
