Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Baker to join our team in creating high-quality baked goods for our customers. This position requires early morning shifts and weekend availability.

Baker responsibilities include:

1. Prepare and bake breads, pastries, and other baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards 2. Measure and mix ingredients using commercial baking equipment including mixers, ovens, and proofers 3. Monitor baking process and adjust temperatures/timing as needed to ensure product quality 4. Decorate and finish baked goods with icings, glazes, and toppings 5. Maintain proper inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies 6. Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures including proper storage and labeling 7. Operate and maintain baking equipment, reporting any malfunctions to management 8. Package finished products for retail sale or customer pickup

Must-Have Requirements

1. 2+ years of professional baking experience in commercial kitchen environment 2. Proficiency in basic baking techniques including mixing, kneading, proofing, and baking 3. Knowledge of ingredient functions and baking science 4. Ability to follow recipes and measurements precisely 5. Food Handler's Certification (ServSafe or equivalent) 6. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ pounds 7. Availability to work early morning shifts (typically 3AM-11AM) and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

1. Culinary school degree or baking/pastry certification 2. Experience with artisan bread production and sourdough techniques 3. Knowledge of dietary restrictions and alternative baking (gluten-free, vegan, etc.) 4. Experience in high-volume production environments 5. Inventory management and ordering experience 6. Supervisory or team lead experience in bakery setting
