Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders in diverse patient populations. This role involves developing individualized treatment plans, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and providing evidence-based interventions to help patients achieve optimal communication outcomes in various clinical settings across the United States.
Speech Pathologist responsibilities include:
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders using standardized and informal measures
2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with ASHA guidelines and evidence-based practices
3. Provide therapeutic interventions for articulation, fluency, voice, language, and swallowing disorders
4. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with Medicare/Medicaid regulations and HIPAA requirements
5. Collaborate with physicians, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
6. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on strategies and techniques for communication improvement
7. Utilize AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices and technologies when appropriate
8. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to educational planning for school-based cases
1. Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program
2. Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
3. Valid state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
4. Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in assessment and treatment of communication disorders
5. Proficiency in administering and interpreting standardized assessment tools (e.g., GFTA, CELF, PLS)
6. Strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding and insurance documentation requirements
7. Experience with dysphagia management and MBS/FEES studies
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
1. Bilingual proficiency (Spanish-English) with certified interpreter credentials
2. Experience in both medical and educational settings (acute care, outpatient, schools)
3. Specialization in specific areas such as pediatric feeding disorders, aphasia, or motor speech disorders
4. Previous experience with telepractice and virtual therapy platforms
5. Membership in specialized professional organizations (e.g., SIGs through ASHA)
6. Experience with electronic medical records systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar)
7. Background in working with culturally diverse populations across different US regions
Bonus Skills
1. Board Certification in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders (BCS-S)
2. Certification in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT LOUD) or PROMPT technique
3. Experience with specialized instrumentation (videostroboscopy, FEES, manometry)
4. Research experience with publications in peer-reviewed journals
5. Supervision experience for CFY candidates or graduate students
6. Training in trauma-informed care or neurodiversity-affirming practices
7. Proficiency in advanced AAC device programming and implementation
