Resident Assistant responsibilities include:
1. Build inclusive residential communities through programming and individual interactions
2. Serve as first responder for emergency situations and policy violations
3. Conduct regular floor meetings and one-on-one check-ins with residents
4. Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, programming, and resident interactions
5. Facilitate conflict resolution among roommates and floor residents
6. Support academic success through study sessions and resource referrals
7. Collaborate with professional staff on duty rotation and campus initiatives
8. Administer room condition reports and facility maintenance requests
1. Current full-time enrollment at the university with good academic standing (minimum 2.5 GPA)
2. Completed at least one academic year at college/university level
3. Availability for entire academic year including training periods and breaks
4. Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
5. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
6. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles
7. No current disciplinary record with the university
Preferred Qualifications
1. Previous leadership experience in student organizations or campus activities
2. Experience living in university residence halls
3. CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
4. Knowledge of campus resources and support services
5. Experience with event planning or programming
6. Background in peer mentoring or counseling
7. Availability for summer conference housing assignments

1. Fluency in multiple languages commonly spoken on campus
2. Mental Health First Aid certification
3. Crisis intervention training or experience

5. Experience with restorative justice practices
