Nursing Supervisor responsibilities include:

2. Manage staffing schedules, assignments, and patient acuity levels
3. Provide clinical guidance and support to nursing staff
4. Ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards and state/federal regulations
5. Conduct performance evaluations and provide staff development
6. Monitor patient care quality and implement improvement initiatives
7. Serve as liaison between nursing staff, physicians, and administration
8. Manage patient and family concerns and incident reports
9. Oversee medication administration and treatment protocols
10. Coordinate emergency responses and critical situations
1. Current RN license in state of practice (unencumbered)
2. BSN degree from accredited nursing program
3. Minimum 5 years clinical nursing experience
4. Minimum 2 years in leadership or charge nurse role
5. BLS and ACLS certifications current
6. Proven knowledge of nursing standards and best practices
7. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
9. Demonstrated problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
10. Understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements
Preferred Qualifications
1. Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration
2. Certification in nursing leadership (NE-BC, CNML)
3. Experience with electronic health records (Epic, Cerner)
4. Background in specific clinical specialty (ICU, ER, Med-Surg)
5. Previous experience in unionized healthcare environment
6. Quality improvement or patient safety certification
7. Budget management and resource allocation experience
8. Multi-shift or 24/7 facility supervision experience
