The ideal candidate will be proficient in operating advanced medical equipment and maintaining quality control standards in accordance with CLIA regulations.
Medical Technician responsibilities include:
1. Perform routine and complex laboratory tests using automated equipment and manual methods
2. Prepare specimens for analysis and ensure proper sample handling and storage
3. Operate and maintain laboratory instruments including centrifuges, analyzers, and microscopes
4. Document test results accurately in LIS (Laboratory Information System)
5. Follow strict quality control procedures and troubleshoot equipment issues
6. Adhere to OSHA safety standards and biohazard protocols
7. Assist in inventory management and supply ordering
8. Collaborate with healthcare providers to communicate critical results
1. Associate's degree in Medical Technology or related field
2. ASCP certification or equivalent nationally recognized certification
3. Minimum 2 years of clinical laboratory experience
4. Proficiency in phlebotomy and specimen processing
5. Knowledge of CLIA regulations and laboratory safety protocols
6. Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
7. Strong understanding of hematology, chemistry, and microbiology testing
Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Biological Sciences
2. 3+ years of experience in hospital laboratory setting
3. Specialized certification in specific laboratory discipline
4. Experience with Epic Beaker or Cerner laboratory systems
5. Previous work in high-volume reference laboratory
6. Knowledge of CAP accreditation standards
7. Experience with point-of-care testing equipment

2. Experience with blood bank procedures and transfusion medicine
