Medical Director responsibilities include:

Lead quality improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to evidence-based medical practices 4. Serve as the primary medical liaison with regulatory agencies, accreditation bodies, and community partners 6. Oversee medical risk management and patient safety programs 7. Direct clinical research activities and ensure IRB compliance when applicable 8. Manage medical budget, resource allocation, and strategic planning for clinical services 9. Must-Have Requirements

1. Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from accredited US medical school 2. Board certification in relevant medical specialty (Internal Medicine, Family Practice, or specialty appropriate to organization) 3. Active, unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of employment 4. Minimum 8-10 years of clinical practice experience with progressive leadership responsibilities 5. Current DEA registration and malpractice insurance 6. Demonstrated experience with US healthcare compliance (HIPAA, OSHA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute) 7. Previous Medical Director experience in similar setting (hospital, health system, managed care organization) 4. Fellowship training in medical management or healthcare leadership 5. Experience with value-based care models and population health management 6. Background in academic medicine with teaching and research responsibilities 7. Experience with medical staff development and physician recruitment 8. Knowledge of healthcare information technology and clinical informatics 9. Experience with Joint Commission accreditation processes 10. Background in healthcare economics and financial management of clinical services
