Hair Stylist responsibilities include:
1. Perform precision haircuts, color services (including balayage, highlights, and corrective color), and styling services according to client preferences and current trends
2. Conduct thorough consultations to understand client needs, recommend appropriate services, and manage expectations
3. Maintain detailed client records including service history, formulas, and preferences using salon software
4. Educate clients on proper hair care techniques and recommend retail products for at-home maintenance
5. Maintain strict sanitation standards by properly cleaning and disinfecting tools, workstations, and shampoo bowls between clients
6. Achieve and maintain monthly sales goals for services and retail products
7. Build and maintain a loyal clientele through exceptional service and follow-up communication
1. Valid state cosmetology license with minimum 2 years of salon experience
2. Proficiency in precision cutting techniques (blunt, layered, textured cuts) and advanced coloring methods
3. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships with proven retention rates
4. Strong knowledge of hair care products, chemical processes, and safety protocols
5. Excellent time management skills with ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously
6. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions
Preferred Qualifications
1. 3+ years experience in high-volume salon environment with verifiable client retention
2. Specialized training in advanced color techniques (balayage, ombre, color correction)
3. Experience with keratin treatments, hair extensions, or chemical straightening services
4. Previous experience with salon software systems for scheduling and client management
5. Completion of advanced education courses from recognized beauty industry educators
6. Established client book with demonstrated ability to generate referrals
