1. Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited U.S. medical school.
2. Board certification in Anatomic Pathology and completion of a fellowship in Forensic Pathology accredited by the ACGME.
3. Valid state medical license and eligibility to practice medicine in the United States.
4. Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience performing autopsies and medicolegal death investigations.
5. Thorough knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and disease processes as they relate to cause of death.
6. Understanding of U.S. legal standards and procedures for evidence handling and courtroom testimony.
