Job Overview

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides essential patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff in various healthcare settings across the United States. This role involves assisting patients with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining accurate health records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and state-specific nursing protocols.

CNA responsibilities include:

1. Assist patients with ADLs including bathing, grooming, oral care, and toileting according to care plans 2. Measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) using approved medical equipment 3. Perform safe patient transfers using Hoyer lifts, gait belts, and proper body mechanics 4. Document patient intake/output and report abnormalities to RN/LPN 5. Follow infection control protocols including proper hand hygiene and PPE utilization 6. Respond to patient call lights promptly and provide basic emotional support 7. Assist with meal preparation and feeding while following dietary restrictions 8. Maintain clean patient environment and change bed linens regularly 9. Transport patients to appointments and therapy sessions within facility 10. Monitor skin integrity and report any signs of pressure injuries immediately

Must-Have Requirements

1. Valid state-issued CNA certification 2. Current BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association 3. High school diploma or GED equivalent 4. Minimum 6 months clinical experience in skilled nursing facility or hospital 5. Understanding of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality 6. Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for extended periods 7. Basic computer skills for electronic health record documentation 8. Clean background check and drug screening 9. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and annual flu shot 10. Availability to work rotating shifts including weekends/holidays

Preferred Qualifications

1. 1+ years experience in acute care or long-term care setting 2. Experience with Epic or Cerner EHR systems 3. Phlebotomy certification or experience with blood draws 4. Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) 5. Experience with dementia care and behavioral management 6. Certified Medication Aide (CMA) credential 7. Previous experience in rehabilitation or memory care unit 8. Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid documentation requirements 9. Experience with wound care and dressing changes 10. Flexible availability for all shifts
