Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Child Psychologist to provide comprehensive psychological services to children and adolescents. The ideal candidate will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions to address various emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. This role requires deep understanding of child development theories, strong clinical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with families, schools, and healthcare providers to support the mental health and well-being of young clients.
Child Psychologist responsibilities include:
1. Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments including cognitive, emotional, and behavioral evaluations using standardized tools such as WISC-V, BASC-3, and ADOS-2
2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and DSM-5 diagnostic criteria
3. Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions including CBT, play therapy, and trauma-informed care for children ages 3-18
4. Maintain detailed clinical documentation and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations and state licensing requirements
5. Collaborate with schools, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and develop IEP/504 plans
6. Conduct parent consultations and family therapy sessions to support treatment goals and improve family dynamics
7. Provide crisis intervention and risk assessment for children experiencing acute psychological distress
8. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to discuss client progress and treatment strategies
1. Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology, School Psychology, or related field from an APA-accredited program
2. Current state licensure as a Psychologist with health service provider designation
3. Minimum 3 years of post-licensure experience providing psychological services to children and adolescents
4. Expertise in administering and interpreting comprehensive psychological assessments for children
5. Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities including CBT, DBT, and play therapy techniques
6. Thorough knowledge of child development, psychopathology, and DSM-5 diagnostic criteria
7. Experience working with diverse populations and cultural competency in clinical practice
8. Malpractice insurance and current CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications
1. Board certification in Clinical Child Psychology or Pediatric Psychology (ABPP)
2. Experience working in hospital settings, community mental health centers, or school systems
3. Specialization in specific areas such as autism spectrum disorders, trauma, or anxiety disorders
4. Bilingual proficiency (Spanish/English) to serve diverse patient populations
5. Experience with telehealth platforms and providing remote psychological services
6. Publication record or research experience in child psychology

8. Membership in professional organizations such as APA Division 53 (Clinical Child Psychology)
