Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide essential daily living assistance and emotional support to clients in their homes or care facilities. This role requires patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to improving the quality of life for elderly, disabled, or recovering individuals through personalized care and companionship.

Caregiver responsibilities include:

1. Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting 2. Provide medication reminders and assist with prescribed exercises 3. Prepare nutritious meals following specific dietary requirements and assist with feeding when necessary 4. Perform light housekeeping tasks including laundry, dishwashing, and maintaining clean living spaces 5. Monitor and report changes in client's health condition or behavior to family members and healthcare professionals 6. Provide transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and social activities 7. Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful conversations and activities 8. Maintain accurate daily care logs and documentation of services provided

Must-Have Requirements

1. High school diploma or equivalent 2. Minimum 1 year of professional caregiving experience 3. CPR and First Aid certification 4. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation 5. Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening 6. Physical capability to assist with transfers and mobility support 7. Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills 8. Understanding of HIPAA regulations and client confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications

1. CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification 2. Experience with dementia or Alzheimer's care 3. Knowledge of meal preparation for specific dietary needs (diabetic, low-sodium, etc.) 4. Experience using Hoyer lifts and other mobility assistance equipment 5. Bilingual abilities (Spanish/English) 6. Previous experience with hospice care 7. Familiarity with electronic health record systems

Bonus Skills

1. Certified Home Health Aide (HHA) credential 2. Experience with specialized care techniques (Parkinson's, stroke recovery, etc.) 3. Knowledge of sign language or communication assistance methods 4. Training in crisis prevention and de-escalation techniques 5. Experience coordinating with physical therapists and occupational therapists 6. Understanding of Medicare/Medicaid documentation requirements 7. Certification in specialized care areas (diabetes management, fall prevention)
