Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and board-certified Cardiologist to join our prestigious cardiovascular team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive cardiac care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with various heart conditions. This role requires expertise in both non-invasive and invasive cardiology procedures, strong clinical judgment, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care in accordance with American Heart Association guidelines.
Cardiologist responsibilities include:
1. Perform comprehensive cardiac evaluations and diagnostic tests including echocardiograms, stress tests, and cardiac catheterizations
2. Diagnose and treat complex cardiovascular conditions such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, and arrhythmias
3. Interpret EKGs, Holter monitors, and other cardiac diagnostic results
4. Perform interventional procedures including angioplasty, stent placement, and pacemaker implantation
5. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions
6. Collaborate with cardiac surgeons, electrophysiologists, and other specialists in multidisciplinary care teams
7. Maintain accurate electronic medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
8. Participate in on-call rotation for cardiac emergencies and hospital consultations
9. Educate patients on cardiovascular health, risk factor modification, and preventive care strategies
1. Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from accredited institution
2. Board certification in Cardiovascular Disease from ABIM (American Board of Internal Medicine)
3. Valid state medical license and DEA registration
4. Completion of 3-year internal medicine residency and 3-year cardiology fellowship
5. Proficiency in cardiac catheterization, echocardiography, and stress testing
6. Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
7. Minimum 3 years of post-fellowship experience in clinical cardiology practice
8. Clean malpractice history and eligible for hospital privileging
Preferred Qualifications
1. Additional board certification in Interventional Cardiology or Electrophysiology
2. Experience with advanced imaging techniques: cardiac MRI, CT angiography, or nuclear cardiology
3. Academic background with teaching experience for medical residents and fellows
4. Research experience with publications in peer-reviewed cardiology journals
5. Experience working in large hospital systems or academic medical centers
6. Proficiency with EPIC or Cerner electronic health record systems
7. Experience with structural heart procedures (TAVR, MitraClip) or complex PCI
8. Bilingual skills (Spanish preferred) for diverse patient populations
