What does a Behavior Analyst do?
Behavior Analysts conduct functional behavior assessments to identify the underlying causes of behaviors, develop individualized behavior intervention plans, implement ABA techniques to teach new skills and reduce problematic behaviors, collect and analyze data to measure progress, train caregivers and staff on behavior management strategies, and collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support. They work with diverse populations including individuals with autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, mental health conditions, and organizational teams seeking performance improvement.
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to design, implement, and monitor evidence-based behavioral interventions for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will conduct functional behavior assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide training to families and support staff in various settings including clinics, schools, and home environments.
Behavior Analyst responsibilities include:
1. Conduct comprehensive functional behavior assessments (FBA) and skill-based assessments
2. Develop and implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIP) aligned with ABA principles
3. Provide direct supervision and training to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and behavior technicians
4. Collect and analyze behavioral data to measure progress and modify treatment plans accordingly
5. Conduct parent and caregiver training sessions to ensure generalization of skills
6. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and progress reports in compliance with insurance and ethical standards
7. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and school personnel
8. Ensure compliance with BACB ethical guidelines and state licensing requirements
1. Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, or related field
2. Current BCBA certification in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
3. Minimum 2 years of experience conducting FBAs and developing behavior intervention plans
4. Proficiency in data collection methods and behavioral assessment tools (VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, AFLS)
5. Strong knowledge of ABA principles and evidence-based practices
6. Valid state licensure as a Behavior Analyst (where required)
7. Experience with insurance authorization and Medicaid billing processes
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience working with both children and adult populations
2. Background in school-based behavior analysis services
3. Specialization in early intervention (ages 2-6)
4. Experience with telehealth service delivery models
5. Knowledge of organizational behavior management (OBM)
6. Bilingual capabilities (Spanish/English)
7. Experience with electronic data collection systems (CentralReach, Catalyst, Rethink)
8. Previous supervisory experience with RBTs and BCaBAs

1. BCBA-D certification or currently pursuing doctorate in Behavior Analysis
2. Published research in behavior analysis journals
3. Experience presenting at professional conferences (ABAI, APBA)
4. Specialized training in crisis prevention and intervention (CPI certification)
5. Proficiency in advanced ABA methodologies (ACT, Precision Teaching, Direct Instruction)
6. Experience with functional analysis methodology
7. Knowledge of verbal behavior and Skinner's analysis of language
