The ideal candidate will stay updated with industry trends and maintain the highest standards of hygiene and professionalism.
Beauty Therapist responsibilities include:
1. Perform professional facials, waxing, body treatments, and other beauty services according to client needs and preferences
2. Conduct thorough client consultations to assess skin conditions, recommend appropriate treatments, and develop personalized care plans
3. Maintain detailed client records, including treatment notes, product recommendations, and progress tracking
4. Educate clients on proper skincare routines, product usage, and maintenance between appointments
5. Ensure strict adherence to sanitation, sterilization, and safety protocols in accordance with state regulations and industry standards
6. Manage appointment scheduling, client follow-ups, and retail product recommendations
7. Maintain treatment room cleanliness, equipment functionality, and product inventory
8. Stay current with industry techniques, new products, and emerging beauty trends through continuous education
1. Valid state esthetician or cosmetology license
2. Minimum 2 years of professional experience in facial treatments, waxing, and basic body services
3. Comprehensive knowledge of skin anatomy, physiology, and common skin conditions
4. Proficiency in performing chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and advanced facial techniques
5. Strong understanding of sanitation protocols and OSHA standards
6. Excellent customer service and communication skills
7. Ability to maintain client confidentiality and professional boundaries
8. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual treatments
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience with luxury skincare brands such as Dermalogica, SkinCeuticals, or Obagi
2. Additional certifications in specialized treatments (LED therapy, microcurrent, ultrasonic)
3. Experience in medical spa or dermatology office environment
4. Knowledge of advanced treatment modalities like microneedling or non-invasive skin tightening
5. Previous experience with client retention programs and membership sales
6. Bilingual abilities (Spanish preferred)
7. Experience with spa software systems (Mindbody, Booker, or similar)
Bonus Skills
1. Certification in massage therapy or body treatments
2. Experience with bridal or special event makeup services
3. Knowledge of Ayurvedic or holistic skincare approaches
4. Social media marketing skills for promoting services and building clientele
5. Experience training or mentoring junior estheticians
