Personal Banker responsibilities include:
1. Conduct thorough financial needs assessments for new and existing customers
2. Open and maintain checking, savings, and money market accounts
3. Process consumer loan applications including personal loans, auto loans, and credit cards
4. Cross-sell appropriate banking products and services (e.g., mortgages, investment products, insurance)
5. Resolve customer inquiries and issues promptly and professionally
6. Perform account maintenance and updates as required
7. Educate customers on digital banking platforms and mobile banking features
8. Meet or exceed individual sales goals and referral targets
9. Maintain accurate customer records and documentation in compliance with bank policies
10. Adhere to all federal banking regulations including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements
1. High school diploma or equivalent (minimum requirement)
2. 2+ years of banking or financial services experience
3. Proven sales and customer service experience in retail banking
4. Strong knowledge of banking products, services, and regulations
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
6. Ability to pass background check and credit check
7. Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with banking software systems
8. Cash handling experience and accuracy
9. Availability to work weekends and extended hours as needed
Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field
2. 3+ years of personal banking experience
3. NMLS registration or willingness to obtain
4. Series 6/63 licenses or equivalent
5. Bilingual abilities (Spanish preferred in many markets)
6. Experience with specific banking platforms (e.g., FIS, Jack Henry)
7. Existing client portfolio or book of business
8. Certified Personal Banker (CPB) designation
9. Knowledge of local market and community
