Safety Coordinator responsibilities include:
1. Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA standards
2. Conduct regular workplace safety inspections and risk assessments
3. Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, and near-misses to determine root causes
4. Deliver safety training programs for employees and management
5. Maintain safety documentation including incident reports, training records, and compliance data
6. Coordinate emergency response procedures and conduct drills
7. Conduct safety audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented
8. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs
9. Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries
10. Stay current with federal, state, and local safety regulations
1. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field
2. 3+ years of experience in safety coordination or related role
3. OSHA 30-hour certification
4. Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance requirements
5. Experience conducting workplace safety inspections and audits
6. Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
9. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple sites
10. Ability to work independently and make sound safety decisions
Preferred Qualifications
1. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification
2. Experience in manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments
3. First Aid/CPR instructor certification
4. Experience with safety management software systems
5. Knowledge of EPA regulations and environmental compliance
6. Bilingual in English and Spanish
7. Experience working in unionized environments
8. Advanced degree in Occupational Safety or related field

10. Previous experience in developing emergency response plans
