Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Engineer to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our production systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining infrastructure, automating processes, and responding to incidents to minimize downtime and optimize system performance in a fast-paced US-based environment.
Operations Engineer responsibilities include:
1. Monitor and maintain 24/7 production systems ensuring 99.9% uptime
2. Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools
3. Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Ansible, or Chef
4. Respond to and resolve production incidents following ITIL framework
5. Perform capacity planning and scaling of AWS/Azure cloud infrastructure
6. Implement and maintain monitoring solutions using Datadog, Prometheus, or Splunk
7. Manage container orchestration with Kubernetes or Docker Swarm
8. Enforce security best practices and compliance with SOC 2, HIPAA, or PCI DSS standards
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
2. 3+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering roles
3. Proficiency in Linux/Unix system administration
4. Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
5. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
6. Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
7. Understanding of networking concepts and security protocols
8. US work authorization and ability to participate in on-call rotation
Preferred Qualifications
1. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or similar certification
2. Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
3. Knowledge of monitoring tools (Datadog, New Relic, Prometheus)
4. Familiarity with database administration (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
5. Previous experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare)
6. Understanding of agile methodologies and Scrum framework
7. Experience with incident management systems (PagerDuty, OpsGenie)
