Engineering Manager responsibilities include:

1. Lead and manage a team of 8-12 software engineers through full development lifecycle 2. Drive technical roadmap planning and execution aligned with business goals 3. Conduct code reviews, architecture discussions, and ensure engineering best practices 4. Manage agile development processes including sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily standups 5. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams to deliver features 6. Implement and monitor engineering metrics (velocity, quality, deployment frequency) 7. Manage resource allocation, project timelines, and technical debt reduction 8. Foster continuous improvement through mentorship, career development, and performance management

Must-Have Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field 2. 8+ years of software development experience with 3+ years in engineering management 3. Proven experience managing teams of 8+ engineers in agile environments 4. Deep technical expertise in modern software development (cloud platforms, microservices, CI/CD) 5. Strong background in hiring, mentoring, and developing engineering talent 6. Experience with budget management, resource allocation, and project planning 7. Excellent communication skills with ability to present to executive leadership 8. US work authorization and ability to work in Pacific or Eastern time zones

Preferred Qualifications

1. Master's degree in Computer Science or Business Administration 2. Experience scaling engineering teams from startup to growth phase 3. Background in developing SaaS products or enterprise software solutions 4. Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud infrastructure 5. Previous experience in regulated industries (fintech, healthcare, etc.) 6. Certification in agile methodologies (CSM, CSPO, or similar) 7. Experience with distributed teams and remote management practices 8. Knowledge of DevOps practices and infrastructure automation tools
