Job Overview
We are seeking a licensed Civil Engineer to design, plan, and oversee construction projects including infrastructure systems, transportation networks, and land development projects. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while delivering cost-effective and sustainable engineering solutions for public and private sector clients across the United States.
Civil Engineer responsibilities include:
1. Design and analyze civil engineering projects including roads, bridges, drainage systems, and site development
2. Prepare detailed engineering calculations, specifications, and construction documents
3. Conduct site investigations and coordinate with survey teams for data collection
4. Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation
5. Review and approve project designs for compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, and local building codes
6. Coordinate with government agencies for permits and regulatory approvals
7. Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and CAD technicians
8. Conduct structural analysis using software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, or SAP2000
1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program
2. Professional Engineer (PE) license in any US state with ability to obtain reciprocity
3. Minimum 5 years of progressive civil engineering design experience
4. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite
5. Thorough knowledge of federal and state regulations including OSHA standards
6. Experience with stormwater management and erosion control design
7. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites
8. Strong understanding of construction materials and methods
Preferred Qualifications
1. Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
2. PE license in multiple states
3. Experience with BIM software and 3D modeling
4. Previous work on DOT or municipal projects
5. Knowledge of sustainable design principles (LEED, Envision)
6. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
7. Experience with hydraulic modeling software (HEC-RAS, SWMM)
8. Background in structural engineering or geotechnical analysis
Bonus Skills
1. Experience with advanced modeling software (MicroStation, ArcGIS)
2. Knowledge of alternative delivery methods (Design-Build, P3)
3. Publication record in civil engineering journals
4. Active participation in professional organizations (ASCE, NSPE)
