Biomedical Engineer responsibilities include:
1. Design and develop medical devices, diagnostic equipment, and therapeutic technologies
2. Conduct research to solve clinical problems using engineering principles
3. Test and evaluate biomedical equipment to ensure safety and efficacy
4. Install, adjust, maintain, and repair biomedical equipment
5. Train clinicians and medical staff on proper equipment operation
6. Prepare technical reports, documentation, and regulatory submissions for FDA approval
7. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify needs and develop solutions
8. Conduct performance testing of biomedical equipment using diagnostic instruments
1. Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field
2. 3+ years of experience in medical device development or biomedical equipment support
3. Proficiency in CAD software for medical device design (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
4. Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
5. Knowledge of FDA regulations and medical device standards (ISO 13485, 21 CFR Part 820)
6. Experience with biomedical instrumentation and electronic troubleshooting
7. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
8. Ability to work effectively in clinical environments with healthcare professionals
Preferred Qualifications
1. Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering or related specialized field
2. Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
3. Experience with MRI, CT, ultrasound, or other diagnostic imaging systems
4. Background in biomaterials, tissue engineering, or biomechanics
