Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Auto Mechanic to perform vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance services. The ideal candidate will ensure all work meets safety standards and manufacturer specifications while providing exceptional customer service in our fast-paced automotive service environment.
Auto Mechanic responsibilities include:
1. Perform advanced diagnostics using scan tools and diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle issues
2. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, brake services, and fluid flushes
3. Repair and replace automotive systems including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and HVAC
4. Perform state safety inspections and emissions testing in compliance with EPA and state regulations
5. Document all services performed and parts used through digital work order systems
6. Test drive vehicles to verify repair quality and ensure proper operation
7. Maintain ASE certification requirements and stay current with evolving automotive technologies
1. High school diploma or GED equivalent
2. Minimum 3 years of professional automotive repair experience
3. Valid driver's license with clean driving record
4. EPA 609 certification for refrigerant handling
5. Proficiency with diagnostic scan tools (Snap-on, Bosch, or equivalent)
6. Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems and engine performance
7. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical tasks in automotive shop environment
Preferred Qualifications
1. ASE Master Technician certification
2. Manufacturer-specific certifications (Ford, GM, Toyota, etc.)
3. Experience with hybrid and electric vehicle systems
4. Associate's degree in Automotive Technology
5. Experience working with dealership diagnostic systems
6. Knowledge of ADAS calibration and advanced driver assistance systems
7. Background in customer service and service writing experience

1. EV certification (NATEF or manufacturer-specific)
2. Experience with diesel engine repair and maintenance
3. Welding and fabrication skills
4. Performance tuning and modification experience
