School Nurse responsibilities include:

3. Manage acute illnesses and injuries using standardized nursing protocols
4. Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) for students with chronic conditions
5. Maintain accurate electronic health records using specialized school health software
6. Conduct communicable disease prevention and outbreak management
7. Provide health education to students and staff on topics including nutrition, hygiene, and mental health
8. Coordinate with IEP/504 teams to support students with special healthcare needs
9. Oversee immunization compliance according to state requirements
10. Serve as liaison between school personnel, family, and community health resources
1. Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of employment
2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from accredited program
3. Current CPR/AED certification
4. Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics, emergency care, or community health
5. Knowledge of state school health regulations and FERPA/HIPAA compliance
6. Ability to perform nursing assessments and triage effectively
7. Strong clinical judgment and emergency response skills
8. Excellent documentation and health record management abilities
Preferred Qualifications
1. National Certified School Nurse (NCSN) credential
2. Master's degree in Nursing or related field
3. 3+ years experience in school nursing or pediatric community health
4. Experience with special needs populations and IEP processes
5. Bilingual skills (Spanish/English)
6. Knowledge of public health principles and community resources

8. Training in mental health first aid or behavioral health support
