Job Overview
We are seeking a creative and analytical Instructional Designer to develop engaging learning experiences and educational materials. The ideal candidate will apply instructional design theories and methodologies to create effective training programs that enhance learner engagement and knowledge retention across various formats including e-learning, instructor-led, and blended learning solutions.
Instructional Designer responsibilities include:
1. Design and develop comprehensive instructional materials including e-learning courses, instructor guides, and participant workbooks
2. Conduct thorough needs analysis to identify learning objectives and performance gaps
3. Apply adult learning principles and instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM, Kirkpatrick) to create effective learning solutions
4. Develop storyboards, scripts, and prototypes for digital learning experiences
5. Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and relevance
6. Utilize authoring tools (Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate) to create interactive multimedia content
7. Implement assessment strategies to measure learning effectiveness and ROI
8. Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously within established timelines
1. Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field
2. 3+ years of experience in instructional design and curriculum development
3. Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Rise, or Adobe Captivate)
4. Strong knowledge of learning management systems (LMS) and SCORM standards
5. Demonstrated experience with multimedia production and graphic design principles
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
7. Portfolio demonstrating successful learning solutions and instructional design projects
Preferred Qualifications
1. Master's degree in Instructional Design or Educational Technology
2. Experience with video editing software (Camtasia, Premiere Pro)
3. Background in corporate training or higher education environments
4. Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG, Section 508)
5. Experience with learning analytics and data-driven design improvements
6. Certification in instructional design (CTDP, CPLP, or similar)
7. Experience with mobile learning design and microlearning strategies
