English Teacher responsibilities include:
1. Develop and implement comprehensive English Language Arts curriculum for grades 9-12
2. Conduct formative and summative assessments using standardized testing protocols
3. Utilize technology integration (Google Classroom, Turnitin) for assignment management and feedback
4. Differentiate instruction for diverse learning needs including ELL and special education students
5. Maintain accurate student records and progress reports through PowerSchool or equivalent SIS
6. Facilitate classroom discussions using Socratic seminar and collaborative learning techniques
7. Prepare students for state-mandated assessments (SAT, ACT, state proficiency exams)
1. Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or related field from accredited institution
2. Valid state teaching certification with English/Language Arts endorsement
3. Minimum 2 years classroom teaching experience in US educational system
4. Demonstrated proficiency in Common Core State Standards implementation
5. Experience with student information systems (PowerSchool, Infinite Campus)
6. Background check clearance and compliance with state teaching requirements
Preferred Qualifications
1. Master's degree in Education or English Literature
