The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing innovative design concepts, creating functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces, and collaborating with clients to bring their vision to life. This role requires strong technical skills, project management capabilities, and a passion for transforming spaces while adhering to budget constraints and timelines.
Interior Designer responsibilities include:
1. Develop comprehensive interior design concepts and space planning solutions
2. Create detailed floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings using AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Revit
3. Select and specify furniture, fixtures, materials, finishes, and lighting
4. Prepare and present design proposals, mood boards, and material palettes to clients
5. Coordinate with architects, contractors, and vendors throughout project lifecycle
6. Manage project timelines, budgets, and client expectations
7. Conduct site visits to ensure design implementation meets quality standards
8. Stay current with industry trends, building codes, and sustainability practices
9. Develop and maintain client relationships through exceptional service delivery
1. Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field
2. 3+ years of professional interior design experience in residential or commercial projects
3. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
4. Strong portfolio demonstrating space planning, color theory, and material selection expertise
5. Knowledge of building codes, ADA requirements, and construction documentation
6. Excellent visual presentation and client communication skills
7. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
1. NCIDQ certification or in progress
2. Experience with Revit and BIM software
3. LEED AP or WELL AP accreditation
4. Background in high-end residential or hospitality design
5. Knowledge of sustainable design principles and eco-friendly materials
6. Experience with project management software (Asana, Trello, or similar)
7. Established relationships with furniture vendors and trade sources
Bonus Skills
1. Hand sketching and conceptual drawing abilities
2. Experience with virtual reality or augmented reality presentation tools
3. Knowledge of kitchen and bath design principles (NKBA certification)
4. Photography skills for portfolio development
