The ideal candidate will be responsible for receiving, organizing, and maintaining inventory while ensuring proper product placement and stock rotation. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment to support store operations and customer satisfaction.
Stocker responsibilities include:
1. Unload merchandise from delivery trucks and verify shipment accuracy against purchase orders
2. Organize and stock products on shelves according to store layout and planogram specifications
3. Maintain clean and organized backroom storage areas following safety protocols
4. Conduct regular inventory counts and assist in cycle counting procedures
5. Rotate stock using FIFO (First-In-First-Out) method to minimize product expiration
6. Assist customers in locating products and provide basic product information
7. Report damaged or defective merchandise to supervisors immediately
8. Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and inventory scanners safely
9. Collaborate with sales associates to ensure adequate product availability on sales floor
10. Participate in store recovery activities including organizing shelves and maintaining visual standards
1. High school diploma or equivalent qualification
2. Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds repeatedly throughout shift
3. Basic math skills for inventory counting and order verification
4. Physical stamina to stand, bend, and move for extended periods
5. Reliable transportation and consistent attendance record
6. Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
7. Basic understanding of safety procedures in warehouse environments
8. No prior experience required - willing to train motivated candidates
Preferred Qualifications
1. 1+ years of experience in retail stocking, warehouse operations, or inventory management
2. Experience operating warehouse equipment (pallet jacks, forklift certification)
3. Knowledge of inventory management systems and barcode scanners
4. Familiarity with retail operations and store maintenance procedures
5. Previous experience in grocery, big-box retail, or department store environments
6. Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
