The Stock Associate is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, organizing merchandise, and supporting the sales floor to ensure an exceptional customer experience. This role involves receiving shipments, processing merchandise, and ensuring proper stock levels are maintained throughout the store.
Stock Associate responsibilities include:
1. Receive, unload, and process incoming merchandise shipments according to company standards
2. Organize and maintain stockroom inventory in an orderly and accessible manner
3. Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies
4. Transfer merchandise from stockroom to sales floor as needed
5. Ensure proper pricing, tagging, and security tagging of all merchandise
6. Assist with merchandise returns and defective product processing
7. Maintain clean and organized stockroom and receiving areas
8. Support sales associates with product locating and replenishment
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Ability to lift and move merchandise up to 50 pounds regularly
3. Basic math skills for inventory counting and reconciliation
4. Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout shift
5. Availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
6. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
7. Ability to operate manual and power equipment (pallet jacks, hand trucks)
Preferred Qualifications
1. 1+ years of retail stock or inventory experience
2. Experience with inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
3. Familiarity with RFID technology and barcode scanning systems
4. Previous experience in a fast-paced retail environment
5. Knowledge of loss prevention procedures and protocols
6. Experience processing shipments and managing receiving documentation
Bonus Skills
1. Certification in inventory management or supply chain operations
2. Forklift certification or experience operating power equipment
3. Bilingual communication skills (Spanish/English)
4. Experience with visual merchandising standards
5. Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations for warehouse operations
