Mail Carrier responsibilities include:
1. Sort and prepare mail for delivery according to postal regulations and route sequence
2. Operate USPS-approved delivery vehicles safely in various weather and traffic conditions
3. Deliver mail and packages to designated addresses, ensuring accurate and timely service
4. Collect outgoing mail from residential and business customers along the route
5. Obtain signatures for certified, registered, and insured mail items as required
6. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, attempted deliveries, and return items
7. Provide customer service by answering questions about postal services and regulations
8. Perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues
9. Adhere to all USPS safety standards and procedures while performing duties
1. Valid state driver's license with clean driving record (minimum 2 years)
2. Ability to pass USPS background check and drug screening
3. High school diploma or GED equivalent
4. Physical capability to lift and carry mail sacks weighing up to 70 pounds
5. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
6. Basic reading and writing skills in English
7. Minimum 18 years of age and U.S. citizen or permanent resident
8. Availability to work variable hours, including weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
1. Previous experience in delivery, logistics, or customer service roles
2. Familiarity with local geographic area and navigation skills
3. Experience operating right-hand drive vehicles or similar delivery vehicles
4. Military service experience
