We are seeking a professional Banquet Server to provide exceptional food and beverage service for events including weddings, corporate functions, and social gatherings. The ideal candidate will ensure guest satisfaction through attentive service, proper setup and breakdown of event spaces, and adherence to established service standards.
Banquet Server responsibilities include:
1. Set up banquet tables, chairs, linens, and place settings according to event specifications
2. Serve meals and beverages to guests following proper serving etiquette and timing
3. Clear tables efficiently between courses and at event conclusion
4. Assist with buffet setup, maintenance, and breakdown
5. Respond promptly to guest requests and special dietary needs
6. Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas throughout events
7. Collaborate with kitchen staff and event coordinators to ensure seamless service
8. Handle and store serving equipment properly according to safety standards
1. Minimum 1 year of food service experience in banquet or restaurant setting
2. Valid food handler's certification (ServSafe or equivalent)
3. Ability to lift 30+ pounds and stand for extended periods
4. Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation procedures
5. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedule
6. Basic math skills for processing payments and making change
7. Professional appearance and demeanor suitable for formal events
Preferred Qualifications
1. 2+ years of banquet serving experience in hotel or event venue
2. Experience with plated service and French service techniques
3. Knowledge of wine service and cocktail terminology
4. Previous experience in high-volume event environments (200+ guests)
5. TIPS certification for alcohol service
6. Familiarity with POS systems for order processing
7. Multi-lingual abilities (Spanish preferred in many US markets)

1. Certification from the National Restaurant Association
2. Experience with special dietary meal service (gluten-free, vegan, etc.)
3. Ability to assist with basic bartending duties
