The ideal candidate will combine artistic vision with technical expertise to create sustainable landscapes that meet client needs while adhering to environmental regulations and project budgets. This role involves collaborating with architects, engineers, and clients to transform concepts into practical, beautiful outdoor environments.
1. Develop comprehensive landscape design concepts, master plans, and detailed construction documents
2. Conduct site analysis including soil testing, drainage assessment, and environmental impact evaluation
3. Select appropriate plants, materials, and hardscape elements for projects
4. Create 3D visualizations, renderings, and presentations for client approvals
5. Prepare project specifications, cost estimates, and implementation timelines
6. Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and architects during construction phases
7. Ensure compliance with local zoning laws, building codes, and environmental regulations
8. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budget constraints
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program
2. 3+ years of professional landscape architecture experience
3. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp
4. Strong knowledge of horticulture, grading, drainage, and construction techniques
5. Excellent design sensibility and spatial planning skills
6. Valid driver's license and ability to visit project sites
7. Strong portfolio demonstrating creative design solutions and technical proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
1. Licensed Landscape Architect in state of practice
2. 5+ years of experience with commercial and residential projects
3. Experience with BIM software (Revit) and GIS applications
4. LEED AP or SITES Accredited Professional certification
5. Project management experience and client relationship skills
6. Knowledge of sustainable design practices and native plant species
7. Experience with municipal approval processes and permit acquisition
Bonus Skills
1. Proficiency in Lumion, Rhino, or other advanced visualization software
2. Expertise in irrigation design and water management systems
3. Experience with historic preservation or restoration projects
4. Bilingual communication skills (Spanish preferred)
5. Published work in industry publications or award-winning designs
6. Knowledge of playground safety standards and ADA compliance
7. Experience with grant writing for public space projects
