Junior Accountant responsibilities include:
1. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
2. Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
3. Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions
4. Maintain and update general ledger accounts
5. Prepare basic financial reports and supporting documentation
6. Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements
7. Support senior accountants in financial analysis and audit preparation
8. Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2. 0-2 years of accounting experience
3. Basic understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Basic Formulas)
5. Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
6. Excellent organizational and time management skills
7. Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information
8. Eligibility to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
1. 1+ years of internship or relevant work experience
2. Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)
3. CPA candidate or intention to pursue CPA certification
4. Experience with accounts payable/receivable processing
5. Knowledge of basic tax preparation principles
6. Previous exposure to month-end closing processes
7. Familiarity with financial reporting requirements
