Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Corporate Accountant to join our finance team. This role will be responsible for managing corporate accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with US GAAP standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills and experience in corporate financial operations within a US-based organization.
Corporate Accountant responsibilities include:
1. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP
2. Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes
3. Oversee accounts payable/receivable functions and corporate expense management
4. Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and quarterly reviews
5. Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure financial integrity and compliance
6. Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making
7. Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis
8. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax filing requirements
9. Manage corporate credit card programs and employee expense reimbursements
10. Support special projects including system implementations and process improvements
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited US institution
2. 3+ years of corporate accounting experience in US-based companies
3. Thorough knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
4. Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise, or similar)
5. Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling
6. Experience with month-end close processes and financial statement preparation
7. Strong understanding of internal controls and compliance requirements
8. Excellent attention to detail and analytical abilities
9. CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA designation
10. US work authorization and ability to work Eastern Time Zone hours
Preferred Qualifications
1. Big 4 public accounting experience
2. Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation
3. Experience with SEC reporting requirements
4. Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance
5. Experience in multi-state tax compliance
6. Proficiency in advanced financial modeling and data analysis tools
7. Previous experience in corporate consolidations and intercompany accounting
8. Familiarity with lease accounting standards (ASC 842)
9. Experience with financial system implementations or upgrades
10. Background in manufacturing, technology, or professional services industries
